New To Fc Club!

YAY! i just bought an FC. 1986 N/A GXL 5-spd white.

How much abuse can this NA motor take usually? it has about 150k on it. Ive been driving it hard since i got it which was like yesterday. I really shouldnt, but its so hard not to! im sure you guys understand...well i havent been taking it to redline. i shift about 500rpm before at most.

I plan on getting some suspension, tranny, and rear end upgrades to make this my project car to learn how to drift. I dont plant on modifying the engine much at all for the time being til i can fork up the cash for turbo. maybe intake and exhaust for now.

I dont know too much about FCs. Its pretty new to me. any advice?

You'll probably get about 20 people telling you to check the sticky at the top of the forum
(and you should)
I'd replace filters, belts, fluids, plugs and wires first off and then
get a descent set of tires and a front and rear strut tower brace.

Rotary engines are pretty tough and typically don't mind being taken up to high rpm's. Make sure your oil injection is working or add some 2-stroke oil to your gas and make sure the crank case oil is changed and use castrol 20-50 or 10-30.

My advice? Read the FAQ, read the Archive, search, and read some more. Then if you still have questions post.
