new fc!!!!

i just got my first fc (86' gxl 'but its automatic'), i traded my truck for it and 2000 cash, and i know that all used cars have problems like this one. i have a few questions though, the 3800 hesitation, is that hesitation or jumping, my car jumps when i hit 4grand, second, it starts kind of rough, in the morning i plan on checking the spark plugs and wires and the 5th and 6th ports. the breaks wobble so i need new rotors but all in all for 1000 its not terrible. but i just want to know if anyone can help me with any extra info on the starting up or the 4000 rpm thing, oh yeah, and with my money i plan to have a manual tranny put on and a rebuild on the motor. let me know if i am going the right route or what i should do. thanks guys.

If your gonna convert from auto to manual and do an engine rebuild you might wanna consider doing a TII swap. Thats what I'm doing.

yeah, but then there will be a whole other host of **** i need to deal with, i want to do that eventually and was going to get a tII tranny, but i was trying to stay under 2000 for now. dont get me wrong, the reason i bought this car was because i can swap in the 13 bt but for now i just want it to be reliable.

oh, and the 4 grand stumble, i read the faq's and everything but was wondering if anyone had any other experiences or extra knowlege of other problems or if the automatic tranny had anything to do with it. thanks though bro.

oh yeah, and i just remembered, i thought of the 4k hesitation thing when i was on my way home earlier and put it into neutral and reved it to the sky, so that is why i was wondering if there is something else wrong, because it revs fine when not in gear. thanks everyone.

I think most people only get the stumble if the car is under a load. There is no garantee the secondary injectors are opening(main cause due to increased load on electrical system without a good ground @ ecu) if your just freereving the motor. Good luck on the new rex. Hope you can drive it up to SS8!
