??? New Exhaust ???

I found this whole exhaust system. Keep in mind I am on a budget. It says it for a turbo. I don't think the down pipe will bolt up to my stock manifold. But I was thinking about getting the racingbeat down pipe for my N/A and bolting it up to the rest of the exhaust but the problem is I dunno how big this exhaust is in diameter. Or if it would bolt up to the racingbeat 2.5 dia downpipe. OPINIONS http://www.ebay.com/itm/170777875443...S:1123&vxp=mtr

Thanks

Wear earplugs so you don't loose your hearing and be prepared for excessive noise exhaust tickets with that one.

Racingbeat makes a down pipe that bolts up to the stock manifold for an n/a its on the site. I would like the full RB setup guess I'm just gonna have to wait.

I believe he is referring to this...

Down Pipe / Presilencer Kit 89-91 RX-7 NT Manual *

"Down Pipe with Presilencer - 1989-91 RX-7 Coupe Non-Turbo"

yeah thats close but they make this for the 86 n/a. They also sell the downpipe seperatly. I will just have to wait till I have the funds. http://www.racingbeat.com/RX7-1986-1...ers/16206.html

i know it's kind of OT, but i have the racing beat roadrace header and presilencer on my 88 gxl and really like it. if you can wait and save up the cash i'd recommend going with that setup.

I see you took the time to find a pic of racing beat headers, could have dug a little more and found the non turbo down pipe.

I wasn't sure which series you had, since you didn't specify in your first post. I couldn't tell by the link you posted either... Mainly because it states "SINGLE PATH STAINLESS 4" TIP TURBO BACK CATBACK EXHAUST 86-91 MAZDA RX-7 FC S5" <- What's with that? I assumed you were looking for a series five exhaust.

You were looking at an S5 Turbo back exhaust for an S4 N/A.

Uh, as far as I know apart from turbo or non turbo the exhaust is still the same from series to series.

This is true for S4 turbo to S5 turbo... I'm pretty sure S4 N/A to S5 N/A are different, though. (Because of the split-air pipe.)

Sorry I wasn't more specific about my model S4. I was mainly looking at that system because it was decently priced imo. Also in the picture you can see that the catalytic converter has a back pressure hookup on it, assuming what is pictured is what you get. I also asked the seller the size of this system. They told me it is a 2.5 inch system now assuming that the turbo downpipe that comes with it does not bolt up to my 86 n/a. I should be able to buy the RB 2.5 inch down pipe and bolt it up to the rest of the system and still save a few bucks. Even if the n/a downpipe flange don't bolt up to the catalytic flange. I could just take it to a shop and have them weld the proper size flange on im guessin. Thanks for the replies so far.

All aftermarket downpipes do not have the same dimensions. The RB downpipe might be too short or too long to marry properly with that EBay system.

Performance wise, all you really need is the RB downpipe and presilencer. At least with a stock engine, you get no better performance if you add headers or cat back.

On another note my exhaust right now is junk. It was ment to be a temp exhaust system and its been on for 2 years and consists of gutted pre-cats, a catalytic with a back pressure tube on it and 2.5 inch single pipe runing back to a cat back muffler and its all just bolted together. So it sucks big time
