New to everything. Lots of help is needed!

Hello, first of all you can call me Frank. I've been wanting a project car for a while now so I figured I would try and go with a 2nd gen FC. Now I hardly know anything about cars but I am willing to learn. In fact I want to, more then anything. I have some friends that can help me do things to it so I'm not completely in the dark. I just want to know what are the biggest problems with the FC's. What to look for in buying one. I just pretty much need help about everything. Any helpful suggestion would be greatly appreciated. I have no problems with my car not being able to work for a while while it's being worked on. I have a dependable dd. I just don't want to go out and buy something completely destroyed if you know what I mean. Now I'm not looking to make the fastest car or anything. Just something I can be proud of, if you know what I mean. As far as money goes I don't make the most but I am willing to save up. Eat Ramen for months if I have to. Anything would be greatly appreciated. You can respond to this, or pm me or anything. Anything would be great. Thanks alot. Sorry about the ramble.

Start with the 2nd Gen FAQ. Wonderful resource. Then read the 2nd Gen archive.

Welcome and good luck.

ramen noodles have got me so many parts. Its amazing how much money goes into food. i usually bounce between chicken and shrimp flavor till i cant eat it any more. I generally go two days more until i can feel a vitamin deficiency comming on, then its best to ask strangers for one-a-day vitamins. White women in their 40s i have found to be the highest percentage of "vitamin carriers". Then i splurge for a package of spaghetti at the local price chopper, while going to the salad bar , eating most of it in the store so it rings up 23 cents. That added on to the spaghetti pack and bootleg sauce price is un noticable. Then i check the FAQ.

welcome to the club frank. i'm in greenville right now at school, but my home is technically in sanford.

just an fyi, if you're looking for an fc, your best bets are going to be at raleigh's and eastnc's craigslist (other than the FS section here, of course, but not many ppl in nc tend to sell their 7's, hehe).

i think your closest rotary shop guy is in charlotte, and im told there's one in raleigh welcome to the club
