New engine harness and ECU trouble

well i put in a new ECU and wiring harness this past weekend, and have triple checked all of the connections. now heres the problem. car starts ok and idles damn good which suprises me, but when u go to give it gas it bogs down so much that it almost stalls and u have to get off the gas, but if you slowly push on the gas consistantly its fine up to about 28-3000 RPM but then it backfires really bad. anyone have any ideas right now because i am stumped on what to do, thanks for the help.

i would go over your connections again, sounds like it could be fuel.
