New Engine

I have an 87 Turbo 2 and its been giving me hell trying to get it running so i was looking to maybe just get a new engine....or an used engine with low miles.....like around 60,000 or under.......anyone know of websites that offer these at reasonable prices? Or can anyone suggest a better idea...

Thanks in advance

Atkinsrotary.com has great rebuilds for great prices. If you buy a low mileage engine there is a good chance of having to rebuild it anyway.

Most places don't let you buy a rebuilt engine w/o a core fyi. However I sent you a PM, I have several good cores in the shop...

what do you think is sitting in his car right now? A picture of an engine?

rx7world.com will let you get a new one even JDM ones or the whole front clip of a car. also if you want rebuild you can do it with or without your core. the core saves you between $800(FB) to $3000(FD) depending on which engine you want rebuilt. A S4 TII is lik e$1200 added to (having your own core adds no price to the $2,600) the $2,600 (best rebuild or $1,000 for poor man's rebuild) if you want it rebuilt. Or you could up and get a new engine for over $5000 if you have the money (good lcuk).

Alot of people say this.. is this really- really- really true?

Has anyone swapped a "low mileage" engine and had to rebuild it after a month?
I mean if it's got like 70psi compression...I guess yah..
And I think most people buy a "low mileage" for a rebuild purposes and not many for a full swap.

Im pretty sure there are successful swaps with "low mileage"

Alot of Honda engines are being swapped with "low mileage" and they run strong.

I think it all depends on the condition/compression/etc. of the engine.
Piston/Rotary - they all rust up.

Everytime someone asks about a "low mileage" swap, everything is a negative feedback. like "It'll break" "you'll rebuild it in a month"

Where are the people who had "swapped" a "low mileage" and have good results?

Buy from a company with good reputaion and know about Rotaries.
They give you Compresson Test Results/Mileage/Stored info/Etc. up to you to trust them..

I inquired about a 13BT "low mileage swap" and the Rep. told me that they have it "weather proofed" Compression tested results guarantee, start up warranty, etc..squirt oil in the Holes and rotate the flywheel from time to time to prevent from sticking/rusting/ **** like that....
I know exactly what u mean, seized apex seals are very common on the
rotarys. We do remove the spark plugs before shipment and check comp dry
test wise to ensure you will get a 13b in tip top shape.
Buy a swap and wish for the best.
Buy a rebuilt and wish for the best.
Rebuild it yourself and you know what you're getting, and wish for the best.
