new coils and rims, fitment?
Hi,
I'm putting on some Tein coilovers and I'm wondering how much extra space I'll have between the inside wheel edge and the spring with these coilovers.
I'm planning to put on 18x8'' rims with a 40mm offset. That'll mean my inside wheel edge will move inwards 25mm (about 1inch)...do you think I'll get that much space out of the new coils?
Thanks,
Nima

The problem is that the stock shock system gets in the way at the bottom perch of the front strut. Even with aftermarket coilover systems, you do not gain that much more clearance.
I, personally, don't think an 8" wide rim with +40mm offset will fit.

why would you do that? You spend $1200 on coilovers to boost your handling and then blow it to hell with some big *** gangster sized wheels....If you are going for looks then just take the struts and springs out...It'll sit really low then... 18" wheels aren't going to turn worth a crap, i wouldn't go bigger then 17", I have 18"x on a vert i bought and the car turns / handles like ****. I got 16x7 on my se and they are pleanty big. 17's are almost to big for handling reasons.
