New Clutch Thickness?

I have my transmission off the car to replace the pilot bearing, and wanted to get an idea of how much life I had left in the clutch (its a Racing Beat Street/Strip HD), so I can decide whether to replace it now. FWIW, theres only about 10k miles on the clutch, but there have been a few launch-control take-offs on it, so I dont want to base my estimate on mileage alone.

In the FSM, it says to replace the clutch if theres less than 0.3mm between the heads of the rivets and the friction compound surface. It also says that there is 3.5mm of friction material on each side of the disc, but doesnt specify if that is total material thickness, or depth to the rivet head.

So, my question is, what thickness do the discs start at, measured from the friction material surface to the rivet head? Does anyone have a new stock-type disc laying around that they could measure?

Ok..from memory,If I still have it..your 3.5 mm X2 is 7mm/approximately 1/4 inch..the Minimum Runnable thickness was 1/16,I believe.(one of my First Posts were on this subject,.three years ago)..
If you see the rivets Close to the Surface area,do yourself a favor and change the Clutch. It's Easy while it is out,and it Saves taking the trans Out/..AGAIN!..

Yea, if its even half-worn then i'm going to replace it.

I'm not positive where the 3.5mm number is measured between though. If its the total material thickness, then it would be measured from deeper than the bottom of the rivet, making the rivet-head to surface distance probably closer to 1.5mm when new. If its the rivet-head to surface measurement, then it would be 3.5mm. The difference between these numbers for the new-disc-thickness would make a huge difference in the percentage wear that I see/calculate.
