People on these forums tend to actually KNOW something about their cars, club4ag has a bunch of punks talking about how they're gonna get this and get that... not a whole lot of real knowledge though. =/

Good luck, keep an eye on the recycler as the best source for cars, but be weary of someone that seems to know a lot about the car but ISN'T selling it on these forums in the for sale section... because they might be avoiding these forums specifically because the members here would spot hard to notice problems and the person would have to sell it a lot cheaper.

Oh and a last bit of advice, if you're not planning on doing all your own work on the car (from oil changes to clutch swaps) expect to have to pay more for a mechanic that knows WTF he's doing on these cars... they are harder to find than the average car mechanic. But on the plus side these cars as easy as hell to work on yourself if you have time and space, I'm rebuilding the engine in my garage. And once they're fixed you can count on them.

My hands are dirty with grease and god knows what as I type this. If you buy an Rx7. Invest in some fast orange as well.
Oh, and on the reliability issue, I have a 1990 Mazda Rx7 turbo2. 170K miles. Still runs like a raped ape.

yea dude those are really high. 904-636-7888 Thats the number to a rotary shop in jacksonville Fl. The guy who builds the motors there was the head reman engine builder for Mazda. He has built over 10k motors. They are good on the price and will warentee the motor. Ask for Ron. Tell him Jeremy Bush sent you. Just give him a call and talk to him after 5 min you will know that he knows what he is doing and will do the job right the f irst time.

They are helping me build my 500hp fc. The car is going to be a show feature car for Driving Force Automotive (the shop i mentioned) and Corksport.

WTF? 10k motors?

Is he like 500 years old??! lol

Those prices are good, I saw them and thought they were kinda low since the shipping is free. ;D

In fact they are low prices, they gurantee the engine for 24k miles. That's good and all... but reman'd engines won't last the 150-250k that new engines can, maybe half of that... depending on the wear.

It would cost a lot more to get all new housings, irons and rotors... which would be ideal.

If someone is selling them for cheaper they're probably not rebuilds, they're probably imported JSpec engines... Japan is full of cars with 30k miles in the junkyard... there's some reason why, I can't remember. Anyway, but for those 30k miles it might have been abused as hell... might not have been. Grab bag there... plus it might have a lot more than 30k miles too.

So unless it's a freshly rebuild JDM engine, it's a gamble as to whether it's as good as one of those rebuilt engines.

edit i did not mean 10k i ment 1k my fingers go to fast plus not being sober dose not help. :p

ive seen a small handfull of motors make it over 150k like 10%. Go with a rebuild. Save the money. By the time that motor gives out you will either have sold the 7 or decided to do another swap.

thnx for the info. but i live in california so calling them is not gonna help me. but if some body know a shop in california who can rebuild the motor. with polished head, 2mm apex seals and light flywheel that will be great. my goal with n/a motor is to make 200hp. thats all i need from the car. is this possible?
but plz let me know where can i rebuild in socali. i will read the manuals and try to do the rebuilding my self. i have never done that. but i guess i`ll try it.

thnx.

peace.
