New Car

Hi all, just got a 1989 GTU but it doesn't run. OK here is its condition, it turns over, it has compression and it is getting gas, but there seems to be no spark. Any ideas?

No this isn't my first rx-7 I also have a 1983 LE, but am going to sell it now.

Ok, the GTU is black w/ grey interior no rust, and the interior is in great shape. the only bad part of the car is where it looks like the front right fender caught on something.

Change your spark plugs and spark plug wires (most obvious). Do a full tune up while your at it. Maybe you coil packs are bad.

how do you know that compression is good before you start up?

if it gets gas, might just flooded.

the check code doesn't tell you the motor is low compression. it only tells what it has been set to. it will be great if 7s have a built in compression gauge. so that we know when to rebuild them.
