New to this boost thing---I Need some help

I just got a boost guage. I installed it and ran it from a vacuum sorce that was just caped off. I used the crapy plastic hose they supplied. Now the question is what exactly is the boost guage supposed to read at idle and rpm and how much boost would it be running with a streetported turbo II motor? The only thing done to the turbo was I removed the aux thing that was opened up via vacuum source(I got rid of the source). And matched the size of the two holes going to the turbo(stock s4 turbo and manifold) Any info would help thanks...

It is on the back side of the upper intake manifold..... Liek right below the bac valve. I have block off plates for all the emmisions stuff(everything is blocked off except the bac valve.) but a nipple for the pressure sensor and one left over that I blocked off until I installed the boost gauge.

At idle it reads like 10(below the 0 PSI) then when I let off driving I get like 20. It says when I'm accelerating that I am running like 13 PSI at 4k RPM.

10 is a little low. might have a vac leak.

how many miles on the engine? if it's brand new then it'll get better.

Umm did you guys miss this? Hes running 13 psi at 4k? This is a little high dont you think?. Yes Kleach now you have entered into the realm of boost creep with that open exuast... Not good needs to be fixed. IF your hitting 13psi at 4k then what are you hitting at 6k? Its prob gonna be like 15psi and you dont want that on a stock turbo. Id say max is 12psi and thats still a little high. Just keep in mind this **** can make your engine go pop, did you upgrade you seals at all? Im just lookin out for ya thats all. Make sure the wastegate is operational and that youve ported them well enough.

Did you remove the wastegate actuator?

I hope he is talking about the twin scroll and not the wastegate.

15" at correct idle is fine... that is what I said in the first post. so it's fine.

ignor the vac at 400 RPM is means nothing...

you should have given more info in the first post. it would have made things so much easier.

but yes the 14psi is too high. don't floor it untill you get some more fuel.

just removed the twin scroll not the wastegate. I don't think its actually runnning at 13 PSI, I think that something is hooked up wrong. i havent taken it above 5k yet.
