I had an old couple (60+) move in across the street. Everytime they were outside they would look at me and cover their ears. I would get out and they would try to yell at me, sometimes i would go back in the car and just let it run and give it some revs . One day i got home and my pops was laughing cause the old people just finished yelling at my dad for having his little radio in the garage on loud. Then they moved out 2 months later yah I had neighbors that hated me, but for only 3 months. Otherwise, most of my neighbors stop by and talk and check out the car, and see what im doing to it

My neighbours are used to me, so it's not much of a problem. Though there have been some people on our street that have complained to my mom, though not to me directly. Apparently, 30KM/H is too fast on a residential street....

I'm living in apartments right now and my landlord won't even let me change the oil on my car, what's more make a lot of noise with it. I thought I should pull up to his place one night kind of late and give it a couple of revs.

The *** won't even let me put a car cover over it!

Yeah.. at my previous house I have had this one neighbor that hated us. They owened the four-plex next to our house. It didn't matter what we were out doing, we could have been out mowing the yard, and they would have given us dirty looks. The thing that really suxed was that from their front door they had a perfect view of our garage in the backyard, so anytime that we were out working in there. They would be peeking out fo the door giving us dirty looks. They called the cops on us, i don't know how many times for noise complaints. 3 RX7's all with N1's plus whoever else would come over. The cool thing was the landlord loved us, and told us to call the cops on them for complaining to her so much, and when the cops did come out, they would just tell us to keep it down. They never got pissed at us or anything. So I guess that we lucked out, but man those people hated us.

i know for a fact my neighbors REALLY hate my car for being so loud. having a car with headers and no cats and a cheap straight through muffler makes my 7 extremely loud as you guys probably already know. also it is a single exhaust sytem which makes it even louder than having a y-pipe.

anyway my driveway is about 1/10 of a mile long and is paved. i come home late at night and no matter what i do it is loud since it is an incline. if i fly up the driveway it is loud because i am at higher RPMs, or if i take it slow in second gear it is loud because it is a deep vrrrrrooooooooooooooommmmm for like 10 seconds.

it isnt just my neighbors that hate me though. I GET LOOKS FROM EVERYONE. not to mention the COPS......since they have already pulled me over for it once....

oh the joys of owning an obnoxiously loud rotary engine...

There is no way in hell he can tell you not to put a cover on it, it is your personal car not his. tell him to eat sh-- and die and then put the cover on it.

****, I'm the one who HATES my neighbors.

******* dumbfucks, putting down the value of my property, with their rustbucket POS. Not to mention the riceboy next door, and the backdoor neighbors with like a car dealership (30 cars, 2 boats, and a school bus (YES, a ******* yellow school bus !!))

Who gives a ****

I got the same thing just now. I put on my header and silencer the other night. IT sounds like a chainsaw on crack past 3 g's. He went out in front of me and tried to block me. I barely slowed down and moved out of the way. He just gestured to slow down and just looked at my tach as I drove by

My neighbors have never complained. I have pulled out of my driveway sideways on several occasions and like to go down my driveway as fast as possible, and nobody seems to care. I like it like that.

I know all of my neighbors really well and a few have said nice car to me on occasion

The guy that lives across the street from me writes an automotive column for the Dallas Morning News as a matter of fact. He had one of those new Thunderbirds for a couple of days a while back.

I guess I am in the minority because I don't want to be the idiot with the obnoxious car that all the neighbors can't wait for me to move out.

And it is pretty ill responsible in my book if you are pissing your neighbors off daily because you think you are cool... maybe that will change if you ever own your home

I have no cats, and stock exhaust (with small leak before one of the mufflers ) in my 86 base... It's not super loud or anything, but it's definately much louder than any of my neighbors cars... and I am outside revving it.. checking stuff all the time.. Never had a complaint yet.. Only person I think would ever complain just so happens to be DEF! (woot! he lives right across street too) so it's all good.. I am always dropping engines into my car in my driveway.. and one occasion I put an engine together with an upside down oil control ring... haha I got the engine running but it was blowing out MAJOR smokeage! and I drove it around my neighborhood with the hood off and all.. Couldn't see behind me at all..

Still no complaints that I know of

I have to agree. I like prefer my neighbors to be friendly to me and so I try not to **** them off. Sometimes nice neighbors can even be quite helpful.

Mine sucks because I can't have two cars in front of the apartment. They asked me did you own two cars when you signed the lease. I think if they knew I did they would have not rented me the place. I wish I could drop my exhaust off in a short amount of time and let them hear what a DP sounds like

Hell I even turn down my stereo when I get into my neighborhood so I don't offend anyone (and I don't want to advertise that I have a great system in case there are any thiefs in the area).

Actually my neighbors and I all get along quite well, Its nice to be able to go next door and ask for an spare beer or help moving in your new 36" TV. We all look out for each others houses and cars and stuff like that as well, because we all get along reasonably well.

but we all bitch about the guy with the Harley at the end of the street. He has a very loud straight thru, and likes to warm up the damm bike by gunning it every Sunday morning at 7:30am, and then ripping through the street at 50mph.

So when MazdaRX7power started this thread the moron with the Harley came to mind instantly. Same mentality... that "who gives a f#@k about anybody else in my neighborhood... who cares if you are sleeping at 7:30am on a Sunday, I am not" mentality.

One of my neighbours moved out cos of my noisy car and sounds...well it was really a combined effort from most of my family. I have the noisy *** sevens. '79 12a and an '88 13BT with 2 1/2 and 2 3/4 systems on them.
My brother has the sounds, he always has fairly normal quiet cars but has MASSIVE sounds and is always playin with them. All this pissed the old lady across the road off plenty but the last straw was when mum left the handbrake off in her pulsar, which rolled down our drive, across the road and parked in her lounge, straight through her brick house - then she moved out. Our only other neighbours make just as much noise as we do and frequently cover the neighbourhood in thick tyre smoke, which if im doin the ATF thing at the same time makes for a complete whiteout of our two houses.

I've never had any problems with my neighbors complaining about my car until the other day....I just got home around 10:30ish and was pulling in my driveway when i see this truck flying up my *** and stop in front of my house. I get out and start toward the door when i hear," hey you come here." Obviously this guy was expecting some punk kid to be driving cause he came walking up like a bad ***.(it was some little short **** about 30) once he saw i was quite a bit bigger his stride got a little slower...it went kinda like this. :you need to slow it down, hell you had to have been going 90mph!" "well I wasnt doing 90, more like 60, and what is it your concern?" "theres kids that play around here, and you need to slow it down, and we're also called in a complant about your cars exhaust too." "excuse me? you did what?" "if you got kids playing in the road at 11oclock at nite you got your own issuses, now get off my property before I call the cops." He just kinda stared for a sec and i shut the door in his face. It was funny. Dumbass neighbors.
