need your opinion on shocks/struts

ok, my car has needed new shocks and struts for a long time. I've finaly gotten it down to 3 different ones.

1. KYB AGX's
$325.00 +s/h

2. Tokico Blues
$225.00 Free s/h

3. Tokico Illuminas (sp)
$200.00 unknown amount of miles on them.

Is it worth it to get the AGX's or will I be fine with the Blues? I don't plan on this car being on the track, just a fun street car that will corner like a bat out of hell.

AGX's are the best out of the three in my opinion (esp if they're new)
The Illuminas are also an excellent choice, but buying used shocks usually ends up being a bummer.

shocks/struts should only be bought new... even if they had only 10 miles on them, it might be 10 miles before the driver curbed the car and bent things...

Or maybe the driver's buddy installed them and used vice grips on the shaft... pretty much distroying the shocks with 0 miles on them

I used vice grips (with rubber in between the tips\shaft) to hold the rear shafts still on my rear shocks while I bolted the nut. Since the rear shaft has play in it, how was I supposed to tighten the nut without the vice grip?

Don't think I did any damage.

See sometimes it is not a buddy that messes them up

There is a flat face on the top of the shaft that is designed to be held so that the shaft does not spin. Then an open ended wrench tightens the nut.

Never ever grab the shaft itself with anything. Even the grab with rubber vise grips can damage the shaft, leading to early seal failure.

the AGXs are nice because they are adjustable, but I'm thinking to myself, "Now when am I ever going to get out and adjust thoes?" so I'm thinking the Blues. How do the compare to the stock suspension? Hopefully alot grippier

For stock replacement the blues, for fun if you will take advantage of it the AGXs.
