Need Your Advice on Buying an RX-7
Hello All,
I'll be buying an RX-7 within the next few weeks (or sooner if I can find that right car).
I'm currently on the fence as to which series/model to buy; each has there own merits. Here's what I'm looking for:
My goal is to eventually modify my RX-7 to an under 7 secs 0-60 and under 15 secs 1/4 mile car.
My question to you patient readers that have gotten this far is, what are your recommendations? I'm looking to spend anywhere from $2,000 to $4,500 on the initial purchase (mods to come later).
Thanks!
-Mike

I'd say buy the series V convertible and swap in a turbo II engine. That's phase I of my plan.
I drive an S5 NA vert right now. It performs well, but you really have to wind it out to pass anything fast. Of course on curvy roads winding it out is the whole point of owning the car

If it was me, I'd get an 85 GSL-SE...small, nimble and FI 13b!
The S4/S5 convertibles, while nice to look at, are just to slow for my taste.
But, its hard to argue against cruising with an open roof during summer nights
