Need usefull insight

I asked if anyone would know how to go about putting the 13 REW 93-96 engine in 2nd gen. But yall didn't think it would be cheap. So you suggested the Turbo II. I hear that these don't last more than 150000 miles and they break down quite alot. Is this true?
Also the T II is 200hp stock and some one said its possible to get it up to 400...... How???

LEt me let you in on a little secret. The 13bt(87-91 t2) and 13b-rew(93-95 tt) are basically teh same block, with differnet control systems added on. The 87-8 t2 runs about 182hjp while the 89-91 runs 200(slightly higher compression and boost). The only difference between that and a 3rd gen is the operating system, the twin turbos and injection. Most serious 3rd gen guys go single turbo, jus like the t2 runs. Whoever told you the t2 tears up alot and failed to mention that they 3rd gens die at 100k is full of ****. NO turbo engine, piston OR rotary, can be expected to last longer than 150k. Ive seen t2s run to 175k, and Ive never heard or seen a 3rd gen run over 120k.

Bottom line, the t2 block is just as capable as the 3rd gen block, it just depends on what you put onto it as far as injection adn control, turbo, etc. The main difference is that he t2 bnlock bolts in where the 3rd gen block does not(different motor mount points).

Notice the engine codes. 13BT and 13BT-REW. As alreay stated, they are the same block. Same rules apply. I have a friend who runs a 93 Touring who had to rebuild at 85k miles, and he also has a 89 TII, rebuilt at 120K miles. Look for a guy here on the forum named "soul assassin." He runs a 90 TII with approx 550 rear wheel horse power as his daily driver. He also lives in Japan, so he gets 102 octane pump gas. A 400 hp 13BT is just as easy, driveable, and reliable as a 13BT-REW.

My mechanic/parts supplier built a 400 HP 87 TII, so it can be done.
