need some injector help

I have an 88 Se FC. My car has an 86 ECU I found. Would the ECU dictate the impeadance I need for the injectors? or would it be the harness?

I just spent over an hour searching and could not quite figure it out.
The primaries in the car now have orange caps on them.

I am going to buy soem new injectors once I find out what I need high or low. Also, wre I to add an Apexia S-AFC would the impedance still be the same requirement as for my car without it? so if I need low impedance now, I will still need low imp[edance after ading the SAFC.

If I need to clarify this more just tell me what you need to know and I'll tell you.
thanks.

The ECU itself has NOTHING to do with the impedence.

The impedence is built into either the (injectors + resistors in the solenoid resistor pack) on a 86 thru 87 1/2 model, OR in the case of a series five, just the resistance built into the injectors.

Series five injectors have a resistance of about 12ohms.
Series four injectors have a resistance of about 2.2 ohms. PLUS, they each have an additional resistance in the circuit of six ohms each. That six ohms comes from a resistor in the solenoid resistor package. Each injector has one six ohm resistor dedicated to IT.

Bottom line......the ECU does not determine the resistance, the injector and or the injector and the solenoid resistor do.

The solenoid resistor exists only on the 86 thru 87 1.2 cars. It exists on your 86. It does not exist on a 88.

If you have a 88 chassis/engine/88 wiring, with a 86 ECU....and the injectors in the 88 engine are the original high resistance ones......you would buy high impedence injectors. The following stolen from RP Performance in Manassas Va..
Upgraded Fuel Injection 86-87 13B NonTurbo Injectors to Chassis #550168 $79.95 57-181 Image Not Available
87-88 13B NonTurbo Injectors from Chassis #550169 $99.95 57-182 Image Not Available
87 13B Turbo Injectors to Chassis #550168 $79.95 57-183 Image Not Available
87-88 13B Turbo Injectors from Chassis #550169 $149.95 57-186 Image Not Available
89-91 13B NonTurbo Fuel Injectors $109.95 57-182 Image Not Available
89-91 13B Turbo Fuel Injectors $109.95 57-184 Image Not Available
All Fuel Injection Cleaning Service $39.95 1955000900 Image Not Available

Or go to this site: http://www.rp-performance.com/main.html and get the same information in a more friendly format.

so he could run a n326 with high impedance injectors and just not have the resistor pack right?
