heres the info i need.

i need to know what the A/R is for both ho and cold side for the s4 unit, and i am also wondering, ive read yup some as i sourched, but i did come across something very interesting. i recak someone saying that the unit has parts that are interchangeable with to4 parts. any info would be greatly appreciated.

 

hitachi turbos use basically all the same rebuild parts as a t04...so if your gonna rebuild the turbo, youd just buy a t04 rebuild kit (thats what i read)

hearsay from a respectable guy..(a guy from this forum that rebuilds turbos for a living).....otherwise id of thrown it out the window.... but wait till someone else chimes in..... just to be certain

 

yeah. but i am starting to hear that more and more and more. idk. imma just go to the junkyard and see what i can scrounge up. maybee a to4 from a school bus eh?

I rebuild those in the shop, $300 return shipped, balanced, and warrantied.

If you are going to do it yourself, a t3/t4 rebuild kit will work. I also sell those. Don't have figures infront of me, I'm not in the shop. Shoot me a Pm if you want, somewhere near $85 I believe..

 

Why would you care about compressor A / R?

The turbine A / R is 1.00 or 0.88, depending on year.
I swear they were all 1.00 according to the Yamaguchi book...

It's a Hitachi HT-18.
They are based on the Garrett T3 / T04 turbos.

How difficult is the rebuild process? And how do you balance them?

 

If these turbo's are based off the T3/T4 Garrett turbo, Why is it not possible to push more than 250whp out of it? T3-T4's routinley make 300+ in the average 4 cylinder motor.
