So i was driving around the other day in my 88 vert and felt like having a little fun. so i dump the clutch around 5 grand and the car doesnt move. Now, im thinking either throw out bearing, bad clutch, or maybe even i grenaded the rear end. I don't think that it's the rear end because there is no sound other than the reving motor when i rev it with the clutch engauged. the speedo shows me going 30 mph when im standing dead still so i think it's either clutch or something. I tried all gears and i get nothing with all of them.

So what do you guys think, and a link to a instructions on how to replace what ever it is would be Seriously awesome. Im going to go start taking it apart right now so i'll let you guys know what i see ect. Thanks.

 

Does the speedo moves when you it the throttle? If yes then it's your rear end.

 

**** i was hoping that wasn't the case. but yes thats what happens. Ok im gonna go jack up the car and see if the driveshaft is turning when its on. Thanks RB.

 

or make sure you didn't break a u joint or something.

but that happened to me when I broke my diff. exactly. I actually sheared the diff mount and broke the diff at the strip with over a 1000 people watching
