Red face need some help finding an engine

Alright so a couple months ago i bought an 88 turbo 2 and i drove it around for about a week and then discovered that the apex seals were crapped out. now ive saved and gotten money enough for an engine. I'm looking for one for about 1-1.5 thousand and all it has to be is straight stock. I'm not shooting for more than that with that much money. I've been told about a site called tiger Japanese and I've also been told about looking on here for one. so if any one could help and know where to find good ones or even have one your willing to sell i wanna get a move on and get my car going already.

You won't get much for $1000 as far as new motors go, maybe a start to rebuilt one, I wouldn't trust an importer for a decent motor you'll still have to rebuild most likely.

I'd call kevin Landers or hit him up on here for more info on his rebuilds, i think they start at around $1500

Err... Kevin landers is in Tennessee so unless you feel like shipping ur core all the way our there or driving, i wouldnt suggest it. Anyway if ur looking for a NEW motor, ur going to spend like 5 grand LOL. Your best bet would be to look for one in a junkyard or something. Before all that, if your rx7 isnt your daily driver you should rip out the engine and find out whats wrong with it you may just have a cracked apex seal or a screwed up housing in which case it will only take you like 500 to fix..... though you should always replace your housings as a pair.

Get the rebuild video, pull yours out and give it a whirl. You might get lucky.

OH and the compression is sitting at 85 on both and the engine has had less than 4 hours of run time. the mechanic said its probably had like 30 minutes at most.

Those numbers are pretty low, but they should come up if its been sitting a while. My engine had been sitting for a year or so and started at 80, but came up to 105 once it got running for a while.
