Talking Need some help with a Cosmo swap/info needed

I've got a guy I know up here with a 10th AE.

He has a Comso engine and needs to get it running in a S4.

I'm wondering if we can sneak it by with the ECU running as S4? Like we do w/ S5 engines in S4's.
Does any one here know if the CAS or TPS are different on these things?

So far that;'s the only thing I can assume will be different.

Pretty much we're going to try and run the car as S4.

GO premix so we don't swap front covers and use the N333 ECU and TII harness.

I'm going over to this guys house this weekend to take a look at it and see what I can do.

So far I've been told the rotors are higher compression. I am assuming S5/FD compression which shouldn't be that bad to deal with.
I know it has stronger internals and manifolds/ports too.

Anyone heard of doing it this way? I've told the kid to go Aftermarket EMS but others have said it can be done this way.

There is a 20B section of this forum, you would probably get better results there...

But a 20B is a 3 rotor... only a aftermarket EMS or 20B ECU is going to run it.

Not all Cosmo cars used the 20b, there is a Cosmo 13B.

Ah... my mistake if he didn't mean a 20B...was he meaning the 13B-RE?

If that is the case, then he probably wants to talk with Reted.

CAS is identical.
In fact it should plug right in.

TPS can be rewired so the N333 can read it.
The Cosmo TPS is identical to the FD3S TPS and functions just like the Kouki / S5 TPS.
There is a narrow range and a full range TPS leads, but you only need the narrow range TPS wires for the N333.

I'd be more worried about the turbo part.
The stock twin sequentials absolutely cannot be controlled by the N333 - duh.
And trying to make them run on the N333 by converting to non-sequentials can be dangerous.
I doubt the stock AFM can handle the airflow from the twin turbos.

Remember, the Cosmo engines REQUIRE a front-mount IC, so I dunno why you guys are trying to get cheap with this install?

Rotors are 9.0:1.
They are identical to Kouki / S5 FC turbo rotors.

Awesome info thx.

I might just try and slap a S4 TPS on the TB if I can.

Thanks for reminding me about the turb flow and stuff.

I believe he set it up as parallel now so it's not actuated by a ecu. Maybe I can get him to get a FC turbo or BNR/T04.

I think the kid has a FMIC already. Dunno. Haven't seen the thing up close yet.

So let's see here.
Minimum he will probably need 550 primaries and maybe 720's and a SAFC since we'll have no idea what the turbos will want to do? any thoughts?

Thx.
This info will hopefully get this kid to save for a Hal or Micro

I would think this would be too much of a pain in the *** to do.
The Cosmo TB is upside-down compared to the turbo FC3S TB.

It's do 250 easy.
