Need some help with actuator rods and water pump

I am in need of some help.

1) I have three 13B's in my garage (one S4 and two S5's) and am having trouble finding my water pump. Just to be sure I am looking for the correct one, if anyone has a picture showing the differences between the S4 and S5 pumps, I would be grateful if you could post them. I am putting a S5 motor in my S4 GXL and need to use the S4 water pump if I read correctly.

2) I disassembled my lower intake manifold for cleaning this weekend. The actuator rods were kind of sticky so I took them out and cleaned all the carbon and other junk off them. I even used a Q-tip to get the guides cleaned. When I put the actuators back in, they almost seemed more stuck than before I cleaned them. I can hardly get them to move at all. Any ideas on how to "unstick" them? I was thinking about taking some really fine grit sandpaper and polishing up the rods a bit to make them move easier.

pull the port sleeves out and clean them. That will allow the actuator rods to move them easier.
Note the direction that the Pins are in and where the sleeve hole is located to assure that you assemble them back in the proper way.

I pulled them apart and cleaned them a few times to try to get them working properly, but no luck. I used a brass brush to clean off the actuator rods themselves and was very gentle with them. I was also sure they went back in the correct way. They are just sticking in the guide sleves.

i believe what misterstyx69 is saying is, did you pull the 5/6 port sleeves themselves out and clean those too? they can get a lot of carbon and junk built up over the years. nothing a little solvent and a rag can't get clean. i also smeared just a dab of oil on the sleeves, and the accutator rods when i reinstalled mine.

I didn't even think to pull out the sleeves.

Last night, I realized that the actuator rod that was sticking really bad was bent. I must have been a little rough while removing it. I checked the sleeves and they looked pretty clean. Once I got another rod out of my spare manifold, I took both rods to my drill press. Using some 1,000 grit sandpaper and the press on low speed, I put the rod in the chuck and polished them up. It worked out really well and the rods work great now.

I am still looking for pictures of differences between the S4 and S5 water pump if anyone has one. Thanks.
