Need Some BOV Help...Sound Clips Too
Ok, I sort of got the impression of what a BOV is/does and everything, but is there any real benifit besides the cool sound that makes it worth the money? Can someone give me a quick BOV rundown or something? Also, anyone have some sound clips of them in action? Also, are they easy to install?

Do a web search for "blow off valve", and you should be able to find the Celica page.  It has a bunch of vids you can watch to get an idea of what brands sound like relative you each other.
Now, with that said and done, the position of the BOV does change the way it sounds on triggering.  So unless we're talking consistent mount points, it's hard to tell you exactly how it will sound for your application...
The BOV is designed to prevent compressor surge at the turbo.  It really has nothing to do with the sound, although most people recognize the sound first and foremost.  Unpon lifting of the throttle under boost, the TB slams shut, and the boost does not exactly stop building -t he turbo is still spinning for a few seconds.  If the boost is not relieved, it starts to back-peddle through the compressor housing/wheel and causes a nasty fluttering sound which induced huge thrust loads on the wheel itself - this force WILL kill the turbo in very short time.  Thus, the BOV was born to prevent this damage...

So for a stock 89' TII, having one wouldn't be a bad idea? Is it usually meant for more modded turbo applications, or just a precautionary measure overall? Know of any place that has an s4/s5 sound clip of one?

You know that your car has a stock BOV right? Usually aftermarket ones are needed once you start pushing higher boost levels, and the stock BOV cannot hold the boost anymore and starts opening under high boost. You can put one on a stock engine for the pretty sound though if you want. I know Scott89T2 had a soundclip on www.1300cc.com , of his car with a Blitz BOV, not sure if its still up or not. Depending on which BOV, and where it is located, you car either get a "whoosh" or a "chirp" sound.
*Edit*- Here is a link to the video clip..
