need quick info on grounding
i'm grounding my engine as per the rotary ressurection write-up, and i have some questions on where exactly i need to bolt them to. primarily the altinator. do i put the positive wire with the altinator wire at the top, where it has a similar connection? and also the same for the starter, and where exactly is the bolt for the top of the block. any advice would be appeciated, thanks.

Don't run any extra positive wires anywhere. You don't need them. I think it's a bad idea even for someone who knows what they're doing, and no offense but you sound close to setting your car on fire.
Add all the ground wires you want. They're mostly pointless, but at least they're harmless...

Insanity. The battery has a cable going to the battery negative post. It is part and parcel of the Engine harness. This cable goes from the battery to the long bolt that holds the starter in place. OR you can connect it to any of the bolts that hold the transmission to the engine.
So, think about this for a minute. Just a minute will do. You already have this big *** cable going from the battery negative post to the engine/transmission, and your going to add another? Just think about that for a minute or less.
And that same battery cable that goes to the engine/transmission also has splits off and attaches to the chassis just below the left strut tower. Take a look. So now you have the batt neg attached to the engine/transmission and the chassis both.
And your going to add a ground wire to the chassis of the alternator? Think about this for a half minute. The alternator is held on the engine by two bolts. Metal to metal b/t the alt and the engine. And your going to add a ground wire to this? Just think for a half minute.
Aaron Cake has a write up on how and where to clean the grounds on the car. You'd have to Search on the forum and use the words *grounds* and Aarron Cake.

Also the FSM shows the location of all the grounds on the car and what each gnd goes to. It's in the wiring diagram section.
