Angry Need to be pointed in right direction with FC

Does anyone have an idea of what I can check?? I really have no clue as to why im still getting a vacuum leak. I just got back last night and ive only checked out the car a couple times today. It'll start up but still wont hold an idle!!!!! I hear something else today though, it sounds almost weed whackerish(hoping its not running on 1 rotor). I dont know if im hearing this cause of the leak or if it could possibly be a blown motor?? I have no idea as to what to look at anymore. Im seriously considering taking the car to a shop and having it checked out. The only one I have in mind is MazdaTrix. Im in South CA(OC), anyone know any shops around here or are willing to give me a hand?? Thanks

Yea I gave them a call. They want at least 600-800 dollars to go through everything again and thats a little too much for me with fall semester right around the corner. And considering its a vacuum leak.

Hmm, have you tried tracing the leak with some start fluid or something and see if it raises the RPMs?

Have you checked the compression to be sure it's not blown?

Check:
TPS with multimeter
Compression
All hoses to make sure they are connected
All hoses with start fluid - one at a time.

And BTW - most RX-7's do sound like weed whackers - it's that wonderful 3-stroke (cycle?) motor we have.

Does it make any power when you drive it hard? If so, it's probabily the TPS.

a little more information would be helpful but start by checking all hoses. Check the two hoses goint into the suction pipe, make sure the suction pipe is properly attached and all joints are tight. Check intercooler pipes, check the hoses on the solenoids. Is the AFM connected properly? look at the hoses around the BAC/ and the other air valve thingy( I forget the name, cuz mine don't have it) and the nipple on the manifold.

If that don't fix it pull the manifold and check all the hoses to the oil injectors and the six lines that connect to the front and back of the manifold.

If the car Revs and drives fine and just won't idle then maybe you need to adjust your idle..........it is hard to say without more details of what is happening to your ride.
