i found this on the 2nd gen registry

ALL 1988 "10th Anniversary" (U.S.) models should have last 6 digits of VIN's...
FROM: ...621393
TO: ...624147

and the one im looking at is ...623013

and i dont know if its true or not,, but ive been told that the ane's have white painted rims to match the car, and that the windows had a gold tint on them...

my eyes may be retarted but that looks like a s5 front lip, HOWEVER the rest of the molding does not match the pattern, and it appears to be s4, more pictures would help.....along with the VIN

EDIT X2: I seem to suck at life again, seeing as i did not notice the VIN you posted.

EDIT: i got double teamed

Maybe still, notice how the trim on the front bumper doesn't match the rest of the S4 molding.

Ask for interior shots, if it has Black interior with manual seat belts, thats a good sign, only S4 with black MANUAL seat belts.
Steering wheel should have the 10th Anv Badge on it too.

yah i saw the s4 moulding after, in fact it looks exactly like my 10th AE, no badges S5 front bumper and no badges (one of the old owners was stupid)

so my evaluation is its a 1988 white but NOT a true 10th AE, no tint and the wheels are the final deciders.

look for the tint
black interior
10th AE badge Floor mats
10th AE badge stearing wheel
10th AE single shift **** and boot combo

those are the easy to find ones that would be very hard to get rid of.

I appreciate all the quick help guys,, I think im gonna end up passing on this one,, but im going to call them tomarrow and bring up everything snowball said and see what excuse they give me,, if there willing to drop the price i might consider still buying it,,

if this is a normal 88, it has over 120k miles on it,, and the negine is proboly the original what would be a good price to pay for it.

if its the original engine, my .02 is that you should grab a compression tester, and if they let you, compression test it. 120,000 is nearing the end of its life (if it isnt rebuilt). Depending on the previous owners, you may still get a fair amount of mileage out of it. But I would definitely ask them for a price drop.
