need opinion on what to do with my GTUs

so heres what i need help with..

i have a 1990 GTUs that im building up..

but When it was sold in 91 the dealer installed a Glass moon roof

and its a lot bigger then Stock fc moon roofs (similar ro FB size)

so here is the question:

A) should i leave it as is.
B) Take the moon roof out and weld in a new peice and make it hard top like its supposed to be.
or
C) Replace moon roof with carbon Fiber peice.?

any suggestions. ideas are more then welcome thanks.

I think B would be sweet bro, but might be hard to get it to look good. You think you could make it look like its never been switched out? That would definitely be sick if you could!

yea thats the whole point, to weld in a new peice of sheet metal, sand it down smooth it out, paint it over, make it look like its always been hard top,..

im just still having a hard time deciding

Then do it bro! It would look so much cleaner, like the GTUs should.

It would probably be easier and better looking to have a body shop splice in a full non-sunroof top (incl A and B pillars) from a junker, rather than try to patch in a sheet of metal.

+1. If you were closer, I'd chop the roof off of my car and give it to you.

Patching in a peice of metal isn't a bad job at all.... especially if you have an english wheel, its a weekend job, or a 1 day job if you don't mind a little bondo....

if you have the money or considering paint the car in the near future i say go patch it... DUnno where you would get a carbon piece unless its custom, and still face possibility of it leaking.

With your build man that would be my last concern! lol
