need a little bit of help with wheels...

Ok so I have a 90' gxl and I plan on using it as a drag car. I have been trying to find what is the best/fattest tire you can fit. I've read thatbone people have been able to put 275/40 in there and then I've read where some just stay with a 245/50. Input please?

If its a na car the 245s will probably hook up fine and obviously be lighter

You can fit 275s in the back, you'll need 17x10 +38 and a nice roll in the back.

Since your n/a you dont need such a wide tire and would benefit from less.

205-225 would be sufficient if your running a drag radial, if street tire maybe go up to 245.

Well im actually sbc powered lol. Right now I have 245/45 on 17x8. I wanted to drop down to a 15x9 and go 275 but didnt know if it was worth the trouble.

Its hard to find to correct offset to make a 275 work on stock fenders without mangling them.

Unless your running into traction problems i wouldn't move up.
