need help with wipers
Ok. I have an 86 and a 90 and both of them have the same problem... only the first or slowest speed of the wipers works on both models and my 90 is at an autobody shop and now it doesnt pass the safety inspection which is stupid because they work just not at all speeds. Did anyone have the same problem and do i have to replace the motor or the switch or is there another way of fixing it without replacing???

i am not familiar with how the internals of the motor work, but my guess (read: guess) would be the wiper switch itself.
likely scenario: if youre not sure how to test it, you probably wont know how to fix it. volt testing is much easier than fixing electronics (though sometimes probing wires is a nuisance and i'd rather be resoldering). a used wiper switch shouldnt cost you too much; $45 at most i would say.

It's the switch and it's a common problem. PM icemark he can rebuild your switch for you. You guys must have pretty strict safety standards in canada to fail inspection because of the wipers not working on all speeds.
they tested my power window at inspection. my switch is broke, so i took it off and use the bare essentials; circuitboard and the internal switches (mini sliders) for the power windows. i dont know if it would have failed me, but he asked me to move the window a few inches to show it worked.

I would avoid ebay or junk yard ones (as I buy a lot of them for cores) and only about 25% of them every work like they should.
