Wait, you're droping a FC3S engine in a RX-8? Why?

i can think of a lot of reasons

regardless, DITCH the power steering and you can get converters for the tach and speedo.

that is... if this is serious which right now is questionable haha

You're in for a world of hurt. The RX-8's electronics are totally integrated into the ECU. Removing it from the equation or disconnecting it from the engine is going to cripple the car. You'll have better luck with specifics over at the RX-8 forum.

But based on my (limited) knowledge of the RX-8, you'll be rewiring most of the car.

FI the renesis doesn't get much power as the compression is high. I swap into FC3S is because I wanted more power and there's example of swapping of FC3S.Anyway I did rewire the whole car and I wanted to tried the wiring of the stock ECU to the microtech as to keep all the electronics goodies like the DSC,but there are too much wires from the renesis itself to allocate the wires. I tried RX8 club but no one replied me til now.

Wow... good luck. Can you post pics of this when you're done? I would like to see a 13B in an RX-8.

I've heard of people swapping 13B's into the RX-8 before mostly coz there's so much you can do to a 13B to make it powerful. But it sounds like it's gonna cost a bunch- good luck with your endeavour and show us the results when you're done!

Ditch the power steering; get a manual steering rack. (That's going to be a bitch fitting to the RX-8!) I'm confused, swapped in the 13B, but using the renesis alternator? Just throw an FD alternator on it maybe? You can buy aftermarket Speedo's and all sorts of diferferent guages to get it all working. That's going to be a ******* frankenstein though. I'd like to see it!

I dunno what happened to the post I wrote you last night addressing all this.

Anyways. Leave the RX computer in there and intact you need it to run the car. get adapters for the spedo and tech sensors basically just run the signal to the tach wire and calibrate it to work. Use as standalone EMS as well to the motor. take the PS pump off the FC3s motor do not use it just leave the rx8 one alone and it will work if you get the spedo working. or if you are tracking the rx8 PS rack gets heated to quickly and fades out so use an FD rack.

the FC motor or nay previous motor into the RX8 is a very wise choice to make power the reni is a pile of ****. I personally would of chose the RE or 20b motor. either way the installation is the same.

you will really need to get both FSM's out. For the ALT refer to engin electrical section for the FC FSM under 5-6. You will need to compare the two exciter wires to the reni alt. use the Reni alt and fab brackets as needed the ALT is much stronger. The lower plug on the S4 alt if you are using S4 is your 12v constant exciter the upper one L it is called is your dido resistor wire to the dash display for KEY ON but not running.

I'm using microtech standalone and wiring it into the stock ECU and the problems now lies in the power steering and the wiring from the FC engine to the EMS

Wiring the FC motor to the EMS is straight forward. the PS will be controlled from the stock ECU via the speed sensor provided from the speedo that is provided from the tranny output sensor.

the stock renesis got a lot of pcm wires and sensor but the FC3S engine doesn't have that much pcm so got to check out the wiring for individual pcm wire what it does to the ecu
