are you using the pulley and hub that came with the engine? Do NOT mix pulleys and hubs between engines or the timing marks will be wrong.

No I'm using all the stuff from my old engine. I have the timing right I think but the cas is turned all the way clock wise so I have no more adjustment. Do I have something on backwards?

The new engine didnt come with a pulley which is why we have to use the old pulley. Is there any way to set the base timing properly using this pulley? Car has an rtek 2.1 so we can monitor the timing

Took the car for a drive and it runs lean (20+ afr) under light load and under any boost the afr flatlines at 10 since that's as low as it reads. Im assuming the lean condition is due to a misfire issue due to the ecu cutting fuel because of the timing issue. Timing seems normal, at idle its -5 and -20, under light load its in the 20s to low 30s. Under more load it drops to around 5ish and will get up to around 15 degrees. I forgot to monitor the split but im sure its fine. The car isn't boosting properly either, and we only took the rpm up to around 5k. Any help with this issue would be great

You could install the CAS a football field from being right.........and the RTEK would still show -5 and -20 because the RTEK is depending on YOU setting the mechanical part of the timing right.

Isn't that a series four *block*? Take a picture of the OMP area of the engine. Looks like a series four install from here.

It came out of a S5 car i believe. I think the previous owner replaced the front cover & water pump with a S4 unit. Is there another way to find out what year block this is?

Id really like to get the right timing marks on this before i install the engine.
