Need Help with Stock Boost Guage

Sorry this has probably been asked before but i wasent able to find it..
I Just got my 88 T II 10th A.E. and the boost guage isent moving threwout the powerband. what can stop the boost guage from working properly, and how can i fix it. there are a few other questions but i cant remember them at the moment.

Don't worry about the guage, it sucks (get an aftermarket one). More of a worry is that if the gauge isn't working, the manifold pressure sensor (which provides engine load info to the ECU as well as run the boost gauge) may not be working. It's important, check it out.
As for the fuel pump switch, under the steering column is a big black relay with a yellow 6-pin plug. You can't miss it, it's the only yellow plug down there. There is only 5 wires going into the plug, the middle row is missing one. The the single wire in this middle row (black with white stripe) is the one you want. Cut it and wire your switch into it.
