need help with rear license plate light wiring.

ok so my car was missing the rear license plate lights,.. so im trying to figure out the wiring.

Here is a pic of the passanger side license plate light pluged in and good to go

Ok, now for the drivers side, I have no idea where the plug is?
What i thought to be the plug, happens to be pluged into a green and black set of wires that goes back into the harness, and they are a thiner gauge.

So i tried to tap the drivers license plate light into the 12v source from the tail lights to see if it would work, and it just shorts out and the lights go off, until you untap em...

so im trying to figure out where the source is.

by the way, ive fitted LED cluster for the license plate lights , 1 on each tail light assembly

People have used them

Pics?

Sorry, don't have an answer for your question. I haven't taken a look at the wiring on this part of the car. To be honest, thats the last part of my car I'd want to make more visible.

you can see i got some crimped plugs thinking i would tap it somewhere

what is this? this matches the plug on the passanger side but its plugged into a wire that goes back into the main harness... i tried tapping into it for the light but that obiously didnt work.
