Hi. Where does this thinger go?

I know thats its the power output or whatever on the alt, but i cant find any places for it to go

picture's kinda fuzzy, but it looks like your 12v+ output cable, should be a terminal on top left of installed alternator with an 8mm nut to secure it- DON'T overtorque it when you install it (might be a rubber boot covering the terminal)

Hmmm, well i took that thing off the end and just used the wire inside of the output cable, and attached it to that terminal. And i blew the **** outta my 80a fuse. Is that connecter a must use or something? its the terminal with the stud like thing sticking out eh?

you blew the fuse because you touched ground with that wire- DISCONNECT the battery terminal(s) first...If it was me I would replace the terminal end, if you don't have any try to secure it as good as you can for now, but you really need to crimp a new terminal end on it soon...that baby carries a lot of juice, and if you have a shitty contact you're gonna get some arcing & sparking
