need help quick- flooded before going to the mechanics!

Hey everyone. Want to TIA for helping me here.

My rex's tranny started to go about 6 months ago. Our Mechanic figured it still had about 10k miles left on it. We drove it up to about a month ago, where driving on some slick conditions made a pretty harsh day on the tranny. We are down to 3rd gear, which is just enough to pull her into the shop (about 4 miles) but nothing much else.

I tried to start her last week and she acts flooded or she isnt firing. I tried to check the coils, but its pretty hard to when you're alone and dont have good w/o any lights to test with. Anyways-- I tried the three step process to get her unflooded about 10 times-- enough that i could smell (and see) the gas mist coming out the exhuast.

The tranny came fed-ex today (long story but about 3 weeks later than expected.) Our plan today is to put her up, drain the oil out, fill her with 10w30. Pull the spark plugs and sand them down a bit to get a good spark back. (plugs and wires were replaced right before tranny started to go(8 months or so)).

I need to get her started tonite because id like to have her in the shop tomorrow. My mechanic gave me a 1 day turn around (God he's good to us.) My family has been car pooling since the tanny lost all but 3rd. We need to get back into our old routine!

Ok heres the big Q. What is not working here? My dad came over and he says its not firing at all. I'm determined its flooded, but hope to God its nothing more. Everything is pretty much stock, cept the intake is cold air k&n. I'm running short of ideas, i really thought trying to unflood her the 3 step method would get her running, im obviously wrong on that point. Need to know where to go from here. The engine has 120kish miles, but has never once hiccuped, cept a few floodings last year. Original tranny was factory, we're putting in the temp replacemet (89kish miles) while our trans tech rebuilds the factory.

I really need to get her started tonite, does anyone have any ideas what could be flawing?

The three step method is to pull the egi fuse, crank for 15-20 seconds ( i see gas-mist out the exhaust at this time) and replace the fuse. Crank for about no more than 5 seconds w/o touching the gas pedal. Every other time I did this i could almost hiccup her to a start, but never did she actually get running.

Thanks for your help everyone!

BTW, she's been sitting in 30ish weather for about a month, started every 3ish days until where she wouldn't start (about a week ago.) I've tried a couple times since than to get in pray and crank, but to no avail.

I'm running to walmart right now to pickup the oil. last question-- whats the best fluid for the ATX and rear dif? I planned on using type F ( i think thats what it takes) but my friend found a local car shop that sells B&M tranny fluid which he used on his 79 camaro atx wich said it worked really nice.

Ok thanks for your help everyone!!

btw having some trouble posting -- sever not found.

One thing you want to do, is when turning engine over, fuse pulled, plugs out, watch for mist out of plug holes to stop. Hit end of plugs with a match, or torch to burn off gas. Reinstall plugs and give it a try. Naturally if it's severely flooded to the point of no or low compression, you'll need to put atf/oil into the chambers and start over.
