Need help on oil-pressure gauge problem.
After doing some searches, I understand now that this thing I found sitting in my engine bay was a condenser. I had no idea what it was and I got no answer when I asked people what it was. Well, now that my oil pressure gauge is dead I know what it is. Does Mazdatrix sell condensors? Does anyone know what wire it was attached to originally? How can I test to see whether I need a new oil pressure gauge or not?
Thanks.

Turn your key to the ON position (or start it, doesnt matter). Take some sand paper and sand the contact a bit inside of the connector and the contact surface on the sender unit. Take the plastic wire connector off the oil press. unit and tap it the metal contact inside of the connector against a good ground (no paint/dirt). Have someone watch the gauge while you do this. If the gauge gets a reading then thats ok. Now put some dielectric grease on there and put the connector back on the sender. Start the car. If the gauge doesnt isnt getting a reading you need a new sender.

The condensor for the oil pressure gauge, has a single wire attaches onto the yel/red oil pressure gauge wire. The other end of the condensor mounts to ground on the engine. Its not uncommon to see the condensor mounted to one of the bolts for the clutch slave or the tranny where it meets the engine.
Your oil pressure gauge will not accurately read without it wired or mounted correctly.

Well, how do I go about the condesor problem? I lost it long ago. Can I just find the appropriate wire and ground it? What kind of electrical effect does the condensor unit have?

Icemark, one last Q-- I have two yellow/red wires, both with female connectors which are not connected to anything near the starter-- coming out of the main engine harness. What are these for?
