ok, heres the deal. i have a 1991 N/A with no engine mods. this afternoon i decided to take off the UIM (first time i've done this) to see if i can get the VDI system to work properly as it was doing nothing before. took apart the vdi valve and found that it was really dirty inside so i cleaned it out. i put everything back together the way it came off, made sure that all of the vacuum hoses were connected correctly. started it up and it came right on, but the idle was very iratic and without keeping on the gas a little bit it would stall out. then i noticed that there was fuel coming from the primary injector for the rear rotor. so i took it off again and found that the little o-ring on the top had been eaten by the fuel rail, so i set out to find a new set, ended up finding some that the rubber was a tiny bit too thin and another set that the rubber was too thick. i ended up getting the thicker ones to fit and make a good seal so i put it all back together and hooked everything up again. now it is still idleing iraticly a little above 2000 rpm's, it does not stall out, and the engine light lights up. if i give it a little bit of gas it shoots up and i have to shut the car off to keep it from revving too high. what could be my problem?

 

anyone? right now i've been taking it back appart and dubble checking to see if i pinched a hose between the manifolds or if something slipped off, but nothing so far.

 

still nobody? well i forgot to mention that also before i took it back appart i noticed that the tps was un-plugged. so i plugged it back in and started it up, but its still idleing funky, but the check engine light went out. so now i'm just dealing with an engine that wont run right.
