Need Help: No Ignition, Now Power With Key on IGN and ACC

Hy Guys.

Trying to start up my vert and all of a sudden there is no ignition now.

Please bear in mind that while we were trying to start for the 1st hour the car was behaving fine. It was cranking and everything was working how it should.

Key goes in and there is no power on ACC or ON. I have no stereo, no power windows. My headlights and hazards work fine as they dont depend on the ignition.

There's a new fully charged battery under the hood and I have checked all my grounds and fuses which are good.

What do you think it can be?

I was having thoughts about it being the ignition switch where the key goes in or a relay went on me..

Anyone with help will be greatly appreciated...

So with the key switch set to IGN there is no power to the car? Then the problem is likely the key switch if it's malfunctioning in ACC as well. It's getting to be a common problem as they wear out.

If you do get power, then check for power at the black/yellow wires at the coils. This will verify that the main EFI relay is properly switching.

It's really strange as it was working perfectly when we were trying to crank my motor and we cranked away for 30-45 min without any problems from the ignition switch.

I just did a TII swap and we were going to start up the motor. Everything is fine, the motor was flooding cause I wired up the injectors wrong, but after I corrected the injector wiring issue we cranked again and the motor ran for 5 seconds and we totally forgot to give it some throttle so we started again and flooded the motor... I decided to pull all the plugs and go with new ones and clear out the combustion chamber before we attempt another start.

After we pulled the plugs, thats when I lost power. It's really strange as I have aftermarket gauges for boost and oil pressure and they light up very very dimly on ACC and as soon as the key is turned to ON it cuts power immediately.

The switch was working fine and then all of a sudden it just goes out?

By the way are the coupe and vert switches different on the 88 model? Can i just use any S4 ignition switch?

Thanks so much for the help as I appreciate it.

Kinda rough to having the TII motor almost running and then to be shot down by an electrical issue.

The MAIN fuse has blown or the single black wire that feeds the ignition switch is apart.

A common symptom of this is that the headlights work but neither the starter nor the idiot light cluster work.

Everyone knows where the MAIN fuse is, so I won't describe where.

The fuses are good, so It's not the fuse and that I am sure of.

Where is the single black wire that feeds the ignition switch located???

I am hovin g the same problem , The main fuse keeps blowing . Any ideas on why nthis is happening ? I just replaced the battery and the alternatior. I drove it after the install was done and it worked fine got up the next day to go to work and it cranked once and then it was dead.

It comes off your main fuse and goes towards the fire wall. About 6 inches away from the fuse box there's a connector, I believe black. Is it plugged in?

The Main Fuse will pop if the alternators output wire touches some item like the intercooler or you short the output wire to gnd while working in that area.
