need help locatin fuse/ power wire.

ok went today to a dude to get my freon for the A/C charged up cause air was not cold. got there and he had me put the thing on high now you can hear the rpms rise and drop. when pushing A/C on the logicon so that part works. he looked at the compressor adn the compressor was not turning. pulley was, but he said you should be able to see the compressor turn to. he checked the low side of the A/C line the one on the passenger side the one that says in the book to use to check and fill. he said the pressure was fine and it had DIE in it.so no leak pressure was fine and die was coming out.

does anyone know where a fuse is to actuate the compressor or a wire of some sort? that I can check.?

thanks

did a search but didnt come up with anything. looked in the haynes manuel under airconditioning pages and no luck there either.

The A/C compressor is fed from the 10A CIGAR fuse.

Find the drier. Pull the pressure switches wires off the drier. Jumper them together. The compresssor will work if the a/c button is engaged AND the compressors wire is connected.

If it does work, then your low on freon or the pressure switch is bad OR the a/c relay is bad/disconnected.

Free fsm online.

ok logicon seem to work fine cayse you can press the A/C button and you can hear the rpms raise/drop. checked the freon and it was charged fine. even had die left in it for checking leaks.

just the compressor wheel or whatever you want to call is not spnning. i was told when looking in the engine bay, you should be able to see the compressor spin , I guess the thing inside of the pulley where the belt sits on.?

eithe way I have the haynes manuel and could find anthing in it.

question, You are saying the fuse for the cigarette lighter is used for the airconditionare unit as well? hmmmm if i remember correctly i have some guages using that for power suplly , could that be issue? fuse is in there so should still work.

where is the relay for it located?

1. Did you jumper the drier switch?

2. Pull the a/c relay plug off. Jumper the Blue/Black wire to the Black/White wire with the key to ON. Did the clutch pull in and make a clack sound? Shoulda.

3. Clutch pulled in in the above step? Then pull the a/c relay plug off and check for voltage on the Red/Yellow wire and a ground on the Blue/White wire when the a/c switch is to ON.

You NEED to download the free fsm that is online. The wiring section. Put it on your hard drive. Gone
