I'm still trying to get over what you said about the fuel pump coming on when the CAS is spun...
Maybe the S5 is different somehow (I doubt it), but the pump should only come on when the key is held to start, OR the key is on and the AFM is open (or the check connector is jumpered simulating the AFM open)...
Hailers, you seem to like spinning your CAS- does YOUR fuel pump ever come on when you spin it?
5v at the injectors- is that what you should read if the resistor pack is in the car?
I vote harness issue

I really doubt the fuel pump should activate while the CAS is spun. If everything was the way it's supposed to be and the fuel pump activate while the injectors fired the engine would probably flood.
I really think it's a harness issue also. Hopefully hailers will jump in and give us some knowledge.
