I found two burned components in my ECU and can't read the labeling on them. They are the first two in line with pin 2O and 2P. The circuit board is labeled with a component number 815 (for the 2O)and 816 (for the 2P). They look like resistors, but I don't think they are. They are light blue.

What are these?

Where can I buy them?

Anyone know where to get the computer rebuilt in case I can't find these parts? I found a company in Ft. Lauderdale, but am reluctant to deal with them because they want cash up front.

I found a local shop http://www.autoecu.com that can turn around the repair in one day. Price $150-$275.

I'm hoping a few resistors and I can fix it myself for $5.

 

I know I being an annoyance, but does the blue cylindrical device have something like 3R9J and 63 written on it? If it does I might go down to Radio Shack and see if someone there can identify these things.

 

OOPS. Re-read your post. You said you couldn't read the numbers.

 

Yes, there are similar ones on the board that are labeled 3R9J and .98. I brought the computer to a local repair shop and the guy had the exact resistors and didn't even charge me. He checked out all the ECU functions including the suspect BAC square wave pulse.

I highly recommend him if you ever need ECU work done.

FYI...he thinks my two light bulb technique for adjusting the TPS may have caused the problem. Maybe the bulbs draw too much current and overheat the 1 watt resistors. Something to think about.
