so I got a new rebuilt on a 88 t2 and I have tried to push start it and when my buddy tows me it turns on. I leave it in second and it stays on once I put it in neutral it shuts off. Like I said I have new rebuilt, injectors , fuel pump, alt, and starter. I just can't figure this thing out any ideas would be very appreciated.
Thanks. Rx7 club

Easiest thing first; check to see that the plug to the MAF is made correctly. If that ain't it then you've probably got a serious vac leak. Check to make sure all vac lines are connected. Check the vac hoses to make sure none are cracked or broken. Then check the gaskets at the TB, UIM and LIM. Then injector O-rings and grommets. Vac leaks can be a bear to find.

you can pressure test for vacuum/boost leaks. fabricate or purchase a tester like this one : www.boostpro.net/prodtester.html (universal tester)
