Need help getting my '88 GTU to start
Hello to all, this is the first time I've posted in this forum. I just bought a 1988 GTU. I don't have any experience with rotary motors, and I'm having a hard time getting to to start, so I need some help.
Background:
The person that I bought this from had recently been involved in an accident. He was rear ended. The damage is minor, so I don't think this has anything to do with the car not starting, but the car sat for about two weeks between the time of the accident and the time I bought the car.
The car turns over fine, but it doesn't start. It has gotten to the point where it feels about to fire up, but I can't get it actually running. I have considering checking the plugs to make sure I have spark (I will probably do this first thing when I get out of work) but I'm wondering if there are any tricks to the rotary motors. Also, I can smell fuel when I turn the car over, as if the engine is flooding. Any help would be appreciated!

Pull the plugs and check to see if they're wet. It sounds like it's flooded.
