need help on coolant

so my coolant buzzer went off today after i started my car so i shut it off. i decided to flush the coolant and refill it. so after flushing it i expected everything to go back to normal but i started the car and after it warmed up i let it idle for about 10-15mins and i took it for a drive. not even 2 mins went by and the buzzer went off again. anybody know what could be wrong? just the sensor? btw its a 1990 gxl.

Most likely air in the system. Not sure about S5 but my S4 has a air bleed screw in the top left side of the Rad. loosen the screw and fill it up until coolant comes out then tighten it down and top off. If that doesn't work check the connection to your coolant level sensor.

When you top up your fluid put on your filler cap and pump the big rubber hose running to your radiatior. You then need to go run your car untill it gets hot enough for the thermostat to open. Try to ignore the buzzer, your not going to harm your car. The buzzing should stop eventually, at that point take your car home, let it cool off and top up the fluid for the last time.

See FAQ to burp the coolant system. There's also a simple $20 device that'll do it. It's basically a funnel with a good seal. Fill up the funnel with coolant. Idle your engine until all your air bubbles go out the funnel and coolant from the funnel takes their place. Easy.
