it is a good idea though. I've been researching FRPs, and it wouldn't be much harder than working with fiberglass with room temperature resins. I might try it out when I can get some spare time. I'll keep ya posted.

Well the main thing that I worry about when trying to switch to CF is that it is generally left unfinished.
So you have to get mats and weaves to line up to make it look good and get a really good mold going to get a nice smooth surface.
Some people will sprap them with clear coat and get it shiny that way.
Most places use vacuum molds and heat booths to get them done right. You can probably do it with out this stuff but it might not come out as good or might need more refinement after curing.

for the highest strength and lightest weight, carbon fiber pieces are both heated and put under high pressure in an autoclave (vacuum molds only offer approx 14.7 psi of force vs up to a hundred or so with an autoclave) and use high temperature resins (HTR), but for this application, room temperature resins, namely epoxy, will work. making a prototype then building a mold would offer the best results, and a nice, high-gloss gel coat would give you awsome results after a bit of very fine wet sanding/polishing.

I replaced my entire dash with one I amade from 100% carbon fiber/Kevlar. I never weighed the stock one versus my new one but I know its waaaay lighter. Ill post pics eventually. By no means would I say drastic weight reduction is rice, cf stickers i guess are though, but not if they are made for your dashboard(just kidding)

I have been working to cover most of my stock interior parts that snap on and off in carbon cover. If you take your time you can do a good job and it will look good. But I would buy the real parts in a minute. but I am not really concentrating on the interior right now. I need to get the FMIC , microtech, and 60-1 turbo put in first.

"too bad i dont see any of them things made for FC's"
He does overlays. Basically he covers whatever piece you send him in carbon fibre. The reason why you don't see anything for FC's is because no one has sent him anything. He can cover whatever you send him. I have seen him do a very good job even on pieces with compound curves. Your door mirrors would be one example.
