Question NEED HELP! bent suspension.

ok....so in a nut shell it was raining and i under steered into a curb pretty much head on. both tires blew, the front suspension got bent back so it looks like my wheels are closer to the fire wall, and obviously my alignment is off...so the alighnment i dont have a problem with i can send it to a good shop. but how do i fix the wheels that moved back where do i start to figure out what i need to (replace or tenderly beat back straight.) if you need pics i can try to up load. i did a visual and nothing looked bent. so now i ask the pros.

and i had a second question. when people have the headlights down but it looks like there shimmed up two or three inches, how do you do that?

Thanks,
Alex

Yes pics would help. Im guessing your lower control arms are bent (at the very least), hopefully not ripped out of the mount of the frame though. I had a buddy hit a curb dead on and we had to replace the lower control arms, tie rods, steering rack and bushings. the frame mounts for the control arms were bent but not broken though.

And the headlights you are referring to are called "sleepy eyes" here in Northern california. I dont know how to do that but that might help you to search for it.

To do sleepy eyes, all i do is remove the retractor fuse in the engine bay next to the leading coils, then reach under your headlights and there should be a **** that you can twist and adjust to your preferred height.

I believe there are kits you can install? But I find this much easier, and free!

as long as the frame and suspension mounts are ok i would go ahead and replace all the suspension parts as they are pretty inexpensive second hand, and would be good time to update all the bushings before putting everything together, and you will definitely need an alignment, idler arms and such should be bought new and should be available at any retailer such as autozone or advance

Left and right control arm and end links. Inner and outer tie rod ends. Front subfram cross member, might be out of alignment. Just some of the pics that would help us help you. I too smashed my car into the curb back in the days and those where the main things I had to replace and adjust. Also make sure to check your rear wheels arms are not bent man.

my brakes failed (my cracked one of my hard brake lines the night before and was unaware and fluid leaked out) on me once and i hit median at like 35ish mph and actually high centered on it ( my car was super low)

suspension was fine (part shop max coilovers) but my drivers side tie rod was bent looked at the lca and it looked fine put the wheel on and noticed the divers side was way closer to the fire wall. changed the lca and and aligned it and boom it was fine.

Maybe that sleepy eye thing made you not see the curb?(just kiddin!).
If I had to screw with replacing lower control arms etc,I would just get another Front Subframe and replace the Whole she-bang at once.It would be easier and you would know that all parts would be straight.

Loose speedo cable.
start trouble shootin at the Trans, where it goes into the speedo gear.
then make sure it is fitting correctly at the back of the speedo( a real Pee-Rick to get at..)
you can always lube the cable up too while you have it out.Spray with silicone lube.
