Need help with auto tranny problem
For those of you with an auto tranny FC, have you experienced any problems with your tranny not easily grabbing a gear (lasts maybe 5 minutes) after a cold start? Engine mostly just revs instead of the car moving while in Drive. This problem goes away after the car is driven for a while and the fluids heat up. Just bought this 91 FC with 104K miles on it.
Is this just a matter of changing the transmission oil or is it more serious requiring a possible auto tranny rebuild? Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

i had the same problem when the fluid was low in the tranny, specially after i changed the tranny fluid; i had to let the engine run for several minutes, then i shifted thru all gears then checked the fluid level and then again like 3 more times;

i hate my auto tranny. i plan to do the swap soon but would like the auto to work until then. its a bitch tho. mine is fine when its in drive. but from park to the gears, reverse, etc. bang... it jolts into gear and sometimes will cause the car to cut off. i have to hold my foot on the brake, rev it up, and put it in reverse, drive, etc. but after its in gear. its fine. shifts good sometimes its rough but hey. autos suck... later.
