need help asap car won't start no spark

My car will not start. It does turn over but it wont start. I Have fuel, and air but NO spark. None of the plugs are fireing (took them out one by one, held them to the block and checked for spark. none of them sparked) I changed both coil packs with known good ones but there still is no spark. What else could it be?

Measure for 12V at plug that connects to the ignitors. I forget which wires, but looking it up in the service manual at http://www.fc3s.org will give you the info. No 12V? Start checking the EGI fuse and related.

If you have 12v, then go through the CAS testing procedure also found in the manual.

Did you check for 12V at the ignitors?

well, lets start from the beginning.

What was the situation that lead you to this point? New battery perhaps?

Now, here is a quick check. Have you made your ECU tester lights yet? Reason I ask is, you can check to make sure the ECU is online. Because if it crapped out, then your chasing your tail.

Here is the link:

http://www.teamfc3s.org/info/article...odes/main.html

The ECU should light both lights for 3-5 seconds right when the key is turned to "on".

Did the light tester thing and nothing happened no lights come up at all. I know it works because I used it a while back. Does that mean the ECU is bad? Can I swap a 86 ecu for my 88? Because I have a 86 parts car and my car is a 88

I think for diagnostic testing, and as long as both models are N/A, you can swap them. But its for TESTING only.

YOu wouldnt have happened to swap your battery cables, did you?

Are you sure I can do it even for testing because the 86 used resistor injectors(needs resistor pack) and the 88 doesn't

I put the 86 in and both lights come up for 5 secs and then it doesn't throw any codes. So I guess I need a new ECU. Thanks a bunch for your help.

Just curious...How are you checking for spark?

If you have an oscilloscope, you can check the other wire at the leading (the one that doesn't show constant 12V with the key on "RUN") for a pulse train as the car cranks.

I don't have a o-scope. To check for spark I am removing plug, leaving it attached to the wire, and touching the plug to the block and watching for spark
