Need help about e-shaft threads.

Well I was just about to put my motor in. I went to the basement to drag up and air hose to zing my flywheel on. I had the motor sitting on the ground, not thinking anyone would **** with it. I come back up and it looks like some lil **** hit the threads on the e-shaft with a damn hammer. I know they werent there when I went down to the basement cause I had just got done cleaning them up.

The damage is only on 3 threads about half way down. Is there anyy way to get them fixed. Or am I gonna have to tear it all down(its brand new BTW) and slap a new e-shaft in it.

Well they are imature retards. They constantly mess with ****. I got them on tape breaking my brand new windshield, reported it and took it to court. But they said that the tape couldnt be used as evidence because It didnt have a date. WTF.

The damage is on three threads about a 3/8 to a 1/2. I am having trouble locating a dye that big, hopefully I can find one. I am highly pissed, was hoping to have it started by know.

metric

A good file and a steady hand would work. See if you can 'die' it with the eshaft nut and lots of lube. Tighten it a little, back off, tighten a little more, back off, continue. I guess use it as a last resort before replacing the eshaft. Ive done it before on regular nuts and bolts, but not in a critical situation like this.

I was thinking a file. But im kinda wery. Is it die or dye. The threads are pretty much flat and i dont wanna try using the nut until I have found absoluty anything that will not work.

If it's only a small section of threads that are flat, you may be able to run the nut over them several times with lubrication to clean them up. A small file will help.

A die that large is not going to be cheap. Several hundred dollars at least. I would almost take it to the machine shop since they will be responsible if they screw it up.

I as just worried about messing up the threads on the nut doing that. And Id hate to run down another. Ill give it a try today. I wanna get this thing together bad. I just thought 200$ was asking way way to much for what it takes to fix.

You will be putting the nut on by hand, not with the air tools. The shaft is much harder then the nut.
