Need help !

Hi everyone... I'm new to this forum. I have an FC S5 convertible. Tried to put the picture I use in the avatar of my other club, but it doesn't work.

I need help : my car wont start.

It was automatic, I've changed it for standard. Everything was ok untill last saturday.

It does the same thing as when you try to start your engine without pushing the clutch : nothing, not even a "click"

So I want to bypass the usual wiring to the starter and use an independant button.

This is where I need help : I don't really know how ??? I'm ok with mecanic, but not with electicity. It would be very nice of you to explain precisely what to do, what cable I should use, things I must be carefull with, etc...

Thanks in advance !

possibly the clutch switch? Have you checked to be sure it is fully depressed when the clutch is in? I would check there for starters...

Everething on the car is ok : the batterie, the radio and when I've started it with compression, everything was ok again.

I'm going to verifie the clutch swith, but I don't think I have one because it was automatic and I don't remember installing that swith. The switches that could give me problems should come form the automatic transmission...

I still want to know how to bypass the wiring of the starter.

Thanks

Check to be sure the wire to the starter solenoid is properly connected
