Exclamation Quick Response For Brakes!!!!

ok so i took off the back pads and the metal spring for the pads came off before i got a chance to look how it goes. there are 2 holes on each pad. left and right. where do i connect the spring/clip, or is it not necesary to have it on.

thanks ive been looking in the archives and FAQ's for some help but i couldnt find anything. and i tried my workshop manual for the car couldnt find anything.

The spring goes between the pads, to separate them so they don't drag on the rotor.
